Overview
Three unique stops define this off-the-beaten-path adventure. The first is an historic mountain pass where history is literally embedded in the landscape — the very spot where Pushkin documented encountering a cart carrying Griboyedov's body in 1829.
The route then descends into Arevatsag Gorge, a canyon with green slopes and gentle terrain — perfect for a picnic stop among largely untouched nature.
The highlight is an abandoned Soviet industrial complex — a rare UrbEx location hidden in the mountains, featuring vast structures and equipment once used to transport raw materials via funicular from mountain peaks to produce refractory materials. Nature is slowly reclaiming the site, creating a hauntingly beautiful scene.
