Above Armenia: Mount Eranos & Azat Reservoir
A scenic hike up Mount Eranos along the turquoise Azat Reservoir — one of the most photogenic natural spots near Yerevan, with views of the Gegam ridge and Lake Sevan.
Tour Snapshot
Overview
The drive from Yerevan takes you through rural Armenian landscapes before arriving at the Azat Reservoir, whose turquoise waters against the mountain backdrop create one of the region's most photogenic natural scenes. The hike up Mount Eranos follows open slopes with gradual elevation gain — no technical difficulty, just steady walking with progressively better panoramas.
On clear days the summit reveals the Gegam ridgeline, Mount Azhdahak, Lake Sevan, and the Ararat Valley. The summit is perfect for a picnic stop and photography. The descent follows the same route with fresh perspectives on the way down, finishing with relaxation time by the reservoir before returning to Yerevan.
