Overview
Mount Aragats (4,090 m) is Armenia's highest point and an extinct volcano with four peaks. The day begins at the Monument to the Armenian Alphabet on the eastern slope — 39 giant stone letters created in 2005 to mark the 1,600th anniversary of the Armenian script.
Continue to Lake Kari (~3,200 m), a high-altitude glacial lake accessible only via one Soviet-era road. The southern peak ascent is a steady hike with panoramic rewards. Amberd Fortress (10th–11th century) with the Vagramasen Church rounds out the day — a well-preserved medieval complex at 2,300 m.
A mountain picnic with sweeping views of the Aragats massif is included for those who pre-order.
